A Materia Medica of Trauma

by Artemis Celt, ND

The long-term consequences of unhealed trauma has become a topic of great interest to me in recent years.  As I have begun addressing this aspect of healing more and more in my practice,  I have gradually become aware for the need of a materia medica of trauma.  A materia medica is a compendium of information about the specific healing agents used for any given purpose.

The nectar of the common house plant, Hoya carnosa, is very useful in treating certain types of traumaA vast amount of trauma experienced on Earth today is relegated to the unconscious and there it remains for the entire lifetime of an individual unless they learn to recognize the inidicators of its existence.

Surgery is often perceived by the unconscious self as traumatic,  no matter how well-prepared the person is who experiences it.  This is one common reason why some people have long-term problems healing completely after surgery.  I have begun slowly compiling information related to trauma held in different parts of the body and the specific remedies that will clear this trauma.

It is important to build a body of knowledge devoted to the homeopathic treatment of trauma,  since properly prescribed homeopathic medicines can be profound healers of overwhelming emotional experience.
